After eleven years of running the Annual Charity Golf Tournament Drury club sadly decided to call it quits. The final event was held on Sunday, 4 November, 2007 and the indifferent weather did not deter a full field of enthusiastic golfers from supporting the tournament.
Prizes
Marica McLachlan, Gay McNamara, Joy Boodker and Dianne French with prizes.

Ann Raymond and her team about to tee off.
The venue was once again The Manukau Golf Club who generously donated the use of the greens for all eleven tournaments and as always local businesses and individuals come up trumps with sponsorships and prizes.
The success of all the tournaments is a direct result of the hard work and dedication of organiser Gay McNamara ably assisted by Lorraine Hyland, and the members who obtained the huge quantity of prizes and raffles including the many lovely home made Christmas cakes made by club members.

It has always been a great day socially and club members turned out on the day to cook sausages and to sell raffle tickets for the hundreds of prizes and the auction of more expensive items was conducted by Ann Raymond-Van daalen who extracted the maximum number of dollars from a generous audience.

Club President Lynne Jackson proudly announced that more than $10,000 was raised on the day bringing the total for the eleven years of the tournament to over $100,000. which has been shared between the South Auckland Hospice, the Franklin Hospice and Kidz First Hospital.

Certainly the end of an era for Drury Kiwanis but the event has been picked up by The Rotary Club of Drury so it stays in the region.
