What is Kiwanis Connect?

Kiwanis Connect is also known as 'KiwanisOne' and formerly as 'PortalBuzz'.  It is Kiwanis International's targeted services for individual members.  It allows a member to sign in to Kiwanis International where the member can then modify his/her own contact details, view the list of members in the member's and club officers in the member's own district (with contact details according to Kiwanis International records) and access various membership tools offered by Kiwanis International.  Signing up also triggers the on-going receipt of emails with various announcements and newsletters from Kiwanis International.  In the case where the member is the club secretary or the club president or a lt. governor or certain district officers, additional features are available relevant to the office held.

How to sign up.

The sign-up procedure is explained in the pdf document found at the link listed below.  This document is aimed at the club secretary but the basic sign-up procedure is the same for everyone.  If you are NOT your club's secretary then you do not need to read further than the middle of page two.
 
But there are some things that they do not tell you as follows :

• When the sign-up procedure asks you to enter your user name, what they mean is enter your full registered email address.
• If you are signing up for the first time you are directed to a l link called 'Set your Password Here'.  There you will be asked to enter your email address (so they can send you further instructions by email).  The email address that you enter MUST be the email address that Kiwanis International has on file for you.  IF Kiwanis International does NOT have an email on file for you, or if they have an OLD (or different) email address on file for you, then you will get an error message ("The email is not found").  Try it and see but if you get an error message then you will need to get one of:  your club president or your club secretary or your district secretary or the district treasurer to update the email address on file for you at Kiwanis International.
• It is HIGHLY recommended that your email address on file at Kiwanis International be unique to you.  This means that there should be no other past or present member that has the same registered email as yourself.  Non-unique email addresses typically occur when both a member and their partner are both Kiwanis members and they use a common email address for their correspondence.  If the email address is not unique, then one or the other of the partners will get email addressed to the wrong person ('Hello Sue' instead of 'Hello Fred'), the second person with the identical email address will be prevented from signing up for Kiwanis Select and the troubles get even worse should one or both of the partners hold a club office.
