Background information on the 2011/2012 Governor for the New Zealand - South Pacific District of Kiwanis International and the Governor's goals for her term in office.
 
Background
Governor Hina Mercier is 55 years old, married to Charles and has three grown children.
 
 Occupation:  For the last 26 years, Hina has been manager of the French Polynesian territorial child care center "Tame Here" located in Pirae, Tahiti. Prior to that, she worked for the territorial main hospital "Mamao" in the neonatal department.
 
 In addition to her own family, job, home, dogs, cats, horses, garden and cooking, Hina's main interests are children, family and the well being of deprived people in our society.
 
 She is a charter member of the Kiwanis Club of Vahine Papeete Tahiti since June 1988. She has held office as vice president, president, secretary, lt. governor, district chairman for Young Children - Priority One and district growth chairman.
 
 Objectives as Governor (district goals)
 
 Hina's goals for the district for the 2011/2012 year are:
  1. Retain the current members and show each one that they are important.
  2. Create one new club in each of the three major countries of the district.
  3. Increase district involvement in "K-Kids" clubs.
  4. Fully support the World Service Project "ELIMINATE" to eliminate maternal and neo-natal tetanus as soon as possible.
  5. Contact each club every month if possible to improve information flow from Kiwanis International.
  6. Continue following the district strategic plan as established in the 2010/2011 year (see the "District Strategic Plan" document on the Useful Documents page).
  7. Plan and run a project with a district-wide common theme addressing the needs of children on 'Kiwanis One Day' (21 April) in order to promote Kiwanis, attract new members and maintain our esprit de corps.
