Background information on the 2009/2010 Governor for the New Zealand - South Pacific District of Kiwanis International and the Governor's goals for his term in office.

Background

Governor Clinton Green is 55 years old, married to Robyn for 28 years. Clinton and Robyn have 3 children, Jason and Aaron (both members of the Kiwanis Club of Napier) and daughter Michelle and son-in-law Kelvin.

Ocupation: owner of Deco City Motor Lodge (with Robyn), though now semi-retired. National Marketing and Development Manager, Green Properties.

Kiwanis: has attended 20 District Conventions plus 4 overseas, 3 ASPAC Conferences, 6 International Conventions.

Awards: Life membership, Hixson Fellow, Tablet of Honor, Heritage Society, First recipient of the Clinton Green Award.

Past Kiwanis involvement: Charter member of the Kiwanis Club of lower Hutt, member of the Kiwanis Club of Napier since 1980 (held all club offices), Distinguished Lt. Governor 1986/87, Lt. Governor 1987/88, various district chairs and Governor 1994/95.

Community: Past captain (2^nd Napier) and national executive member of The Boys Brigade, member Napier Baptist Church, past chairman Baptist Church Community Trust, Past board member AA Tourism - Host Accommodation, current committee member Lake Edge Timeshare, past president Napier Motel Association.

Hobbies: Vintage Car Club, Art Deco, Travel.

Objectives as Governor

Clinton's goals for the district for the 2009/2010 year are:

Promote a common service goal.
- to involve clubs in our regional and global communities (towns and cities, nation, Kiwanis International, ASPAC, twinning with overseas clubs)
Grow existing clubs
- involve Kiwanians and others
- inform our community by:
  distributing bulletins, writing articles for media, pamphlets, formulating a brochure.
- inspire our people
- improve the club experience for every Kiwanian
Open new clubs.
- increase the service Kiwanis can provide to our communities
- share our values with more people
- be proud and promote our achievements
- follow proper procedures (selection, team building, scoping, follow up)
Improve support and operations at all levels.
- by working smarter
- with better communication
- by using technology effectively across all areas
- Details of Kiwanis International web site to be given to lieutenant governors and each club.
