2009 District Convention

This page contains information about our 2009 district convention, held on the 5th and 6th of September, 2009 in Papeete, Tahiti, French Polynesia. The convention venue was the town hall of Papeete. The convention was hosted by the clubs of Division 7 (French Polynesia).

About the venue:
The convention was held at the Hôtel de Ville (Papeete Town Hall). This is a magnificent replica of Queen Pomare's mansion, which once stood at Place Tarahoi. The impressive structure, with its wraparound veranda, captures the spirit of the colonial South Pacific. This Hôtel de Ville or Fare Oire (French and Tahitian, respectively, for "town hall") was dedicated in 1990 by French President François Mitterand during an elaborate celebration.

From here you can find your way to Vaima Centre and some much-needed refreshment at its open-air cafes.

Accommodation Arrangements:
  Accommodation was available at one of three recommended hotels.

The full registration fee for members of New Zealand & Australian clubs was NZ$280.  Division 6 and 7 members paid CFP18,200 per person. The rate was the same for partners.

The full registration fee included participation at all social events plus morning teas, Friday and Saturday luncheons, workshops and associated activities excluding the partners program.
