2005 District Convention

This page contains information about our 2005 district convention which was held 2-3 September, 2005, at the Copthorne Hotel in Christchurch on the South Island of New Zealand. The convention was hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Christchurch.

About the venue:
The convention was held at The Copthorne Hotel, Durham Street, Christchurch..

A contemporary hotel, offering splendid views across Hagley Park to the Southern Alps, superbly located within Christchurch's "Half Mile of Style", featuring a wide variety of boutique shopping and cafes. Just across the street is the uniquely upmarket boutique Christchurch Casino and adjacent to the hotel is the Christchurch Convention Centre and Town hall. Other Christchurch attractions such as Hagley Park, Arts Centre, and Cathedral Square are just a short stroll away.

All workshops, trustees meetings and social events were held on the 10th floor of the Copthorne Hotel for ease of all participants. The Friday and Saturday night evening functions were held in the Limes Room at the Convention Center - adjecedant to the Copthorne Hotel. Accommodation was available at reasonable rates at the hotel.

Entertainment - time was allocated on Friday night for those Clubs or Groups who wished to entertain the assembled "mob".

Accommodation Arrangements:  Accommodation at the Copthorne Hotel was available by special negotiation with the Copthorne Hotel. Single occupancy rooms cost NZ$172.13 per night and double occupancy rooms were NZ$189.00 per night.

Fees:
The full registration fee was NZ$250 per person for members and the same rate for partners. The full registration fee was discounted to NZ$200 provided the registration was received by 31 July, 2005.

The registration fee included participation at all social events plus morning teas, Friday and Saturday luncheons, workshops and associated activities including the partners program for registered partners.

Partial registrations were not generally available.
